Brisbane, Australia – Knight Frank’s Queensland office will have new leadership following a recent appointment.

Dominic Long is set to start in the role of Head of Queensland within the coming weeks, following a relocation from Melbourne to Brisbane.

He has nearly 40 years of experience in property, having previously worked at Cushman & Wakefield as Managing Director of Commercial Real Estate in Victoria, where he more than quadrupled the business revenue in three years.

Prior to that, Dominic spent 15 years at Savills, including 12 years as the Managing Director of the Victorian office, and nearly 20 years at Hardwicke Property Group, Ireland’s largest privately-owned property developer.

Dominic will replace Shaun Witherow, who was instrumental in managing Knight Frank’s Queensland business through COVID-19, and will pursue his passion by returning to Asset Management Services (AMS) in a national role as Partner, National Client Solutions, AMS for Knight Frank.

Knight Frank’s CEO James Patterson said Dominic was highly regarded in the industry, and would be a strong leader for the Queensland office.

“With his extensive experience, Dominic already has a solid professional and personal network in Brisbane, including long-standing relationships with clients including major institutions and superfunds with extensive holdings in Queensland,” he said.

“Not only does he have strong contacts, but Dominic has a wealth of knowledge and expertise both in the commercial property market and in leading teams to success, and as such, will be a huge asset to our business.

“We are thrilled to have him come on board, and look forward to seeing our Queensland office go from strength to strength, both in terms of our people and the service we are providing to our valued clients.”

Mr Patterson added that Shaun’s appointment to a national role in the AMS team would enable Knight Frank to deliver on its growth plans, capitalising on his unique skill set, experience and network, having had 25 years of experience in the industry.

Mr Long said he was eager to move to Queensland as soon as restrictions allowed, and drive the growth in Knight Frank’s Queensland business.

“Queensland is entering an exciting time with an abundance of infrastructure projects in the pipeline, the 2032 Olympics on the horizon and significant population growth, particularly over the past few years as southerners have migrated north,” he said.

“I look forward to being part of the imminent growth and development of Brisbane, and leading our Queensland office to success, while ensuring our clients receive the best possible service.”
