Our special guest is Simon Ranson - Head of Investment Banking, Australia & New Zealand at J.P. Morgan.

In an extensive career forged over the course of more than three decades, Simon has been deeply embedded within financial markets, having variously held the roles of Vice-Chairman for J.P. Morgan as well as Head of M&A and Real Estate Investment Banking at Citigroup.

Simon is a highly-respected figure within the industry, having worked on significant appointments throughout his career.

He completed the first hostile takeover of a REIT for Stockland in acquiring Flinders Industrial Property Trust, the first IPO of a development trust, the BT Sydney Development Trust and the first IPO of an Australian listed property trust owning US property.

More recently, while working at J.P. Morgan from 2019 to 2021 he has helped with raising $6.8bn for clients including Charter Hall, Dexus and Centuria. Simon has also advised clients on some of the largest real estate M&A deals including Investa Office Fund on its A$4.5bn defence, Blackstone on the $3.8bn sale of logistic properties and National Storage on its $2.5bn defence.

He is a Graduate of The University of Queensland having completed a degree in Commerce & an honors degree in Law and previously worked as a Solicitor at Baker & McKenzie.
