BRISBANE, June 11 2021 – The Sisters of Mercy have listed their Bardon property, previously the Congregation’s novitiate, for sale. The property is a 148,064 sqm amalgamation with views of the Brisbane CBD and towards Moreton Bay. The site holds significant development potential, suitable for a range of uses including multi-level residential, a large private home, land subdivision, education, retirement and aged care or even a health and wellness precinct.
The property currently houses the Sisters of Mercy Congregation administration offices, and was until last year also used as accommodation and conference facilities. The facilities are positioned atop a hill with street frontage to Simpsons Road, Macrae Road and Gordon Road, within the Mt Coot-tha Local Area Plan.

According to the Sisters of Mercy, a review was undertaken of the landholding following a reduction in size of the congregation with the site subsequently deemed to be surplus to its needs. The Sisters of Mercy will be relocating the Congregation offices to an alternative property once a renovation process is complete.
