Northern NSW Fruit Farm Hits the Market for First Time

A fruit farm with golden zoning has hit the market for the first time, with only two families having owned the property since the 1800s.

Located at 147 McAllister Road, Bilambil Heights the property is being brought to market by RWC Burleigh Group agent Ryan Langham and Nathan Huxham on behalf of the Teitzel family.

In 1969 the Teitzel family acquired this property from the Warneleigh family when Bruce and Mike Teitzel were merely two kids in their early teens. The family purchased the farm for fruit harvesting, and over the years the brothers poured their hearts and souls into the property.

Four decades later, the Tweed Council issued new zoning codes for the shire. The ever-growing and aging population of the area has shifted in recent decades creating a huge demand for housing with the current median house price now sitting at $1.28 million for Tweed Heads.

With these changes, the Teitzel family decided it was time to sell.

"With the housing crisis headlines a constant in the media, it's an incredible feeling to know that we are playing a small part in contributing to the solution,” Mr Huxham said.

“As a beloved generational asset, the family have made the heartfelt decision to bring the property into the modern era and allow a visionary developer to create a sanctuary for many families for generations to come.”

Mr Langham said the property was brimming with potential.

“It’s a truly exceptional property that epitomises a master plan community with awe-inspiring views," Mr Ryan Langham said.

"It really is an unparalleled blue chip opportunity that developers dream of."

"We are super excited for the housing and employment opportunities, as well as the muchly needed infrastructure upgrades this property will bring to the area.”

Mr Langham and Mr Huxham believe this property will be extremely well received by the market due to the high-interest level they received from developers during their recent EOI campaign that facilitated the sale of the North Star Holiday Resort in Hasting Point.

“The campaign for the North Star Holiday Resort attracted interest from multiple developers as well as the Tweed Shire Council who were looking for a solution to the shortfall of housing supply in the local area,” Mr Huxham said.

“We feel the offering of this ‘unicorn’ property at Bilambil Heights to the open market will be met with open arms.”

The property is being offered for sale via an expression of interest campaign which closes on Thursday, 14 November at 4:00 pm.
